"When We Shout for Love, Vol 3" by Yuka Kitagawa

The "When We Shout for Love" series by Yuka Kitagawa is a wholesome and satisfying read. It's about friendship, empowerment, and about being passionate about the things you like. This is a read for everyone that likes stories about fandoms. Especially if you like when fans meet their idols! I flew through this series, and couldn't get the next volume fast enough. Cute, adorable, and fast-paced with reliable characters. I loved the growth Mayuko go through, the music that inspires her, and the fanciable Ohba-kun for his support and patience as Mayuko struggles with her anxiety. It was nice to read a story with no miscommunications but with positive messages about not caring about other people looking at you, and daring to do the things you love. But I'm sad now because volume 3 was the last in the series. One thing is sure, I will check out the author's other works!

"When We Shout for Love, Vol 2" by Yuka Kitagawa

AHH ”When We Shout for Love, Vol 2” by Yuka Kitagawa is so cute! Every page is so nicely drawn, and the story pulls you right in! This is a read for everyone that likes stories about fandoms. Mayuko finds the courage to ask Ohba-kun to a KBF47 concert, and he agrees! Next follows cute scenes of Mayuko being grateful for her friend, Ohba-kun, and the two friends having the time of their life as fans at the concert! A new character was introduced too, and this is making me very excited to see what happens next. Mayuko and Ohba-kun split up for a second, and Ohba-kun runs into their favourite idol Zono-chan, and help her find back on stage. I sense trouble in the future... the way Ohba-kun watch Zono-chan is the same way he watches Mayuko. A bit of a glassy-eyed admiration. Yikes! I'm onto the next book, right away!

”When We Shout for Love, Vol 1” by Yuka Kitagawa

I am still one big smile after reading ”When We Shout for Love Vol 1” by Yuka Kitagawa. It is such a happy and positive read! Mayuko struggles with social anxiety and prefers to be in her cocoon at home. Her ray of light is her favourite girl group, KBF47. Their songs are the soundtrack about her life and the life she wished she had - the kind of life where she's not scared of what other people think of her. Ohba-kun, our male main character, is assumed to be a thug, but by chance, Mayuko learns that they have a thing in common – they are both fans of KBF47. But no one at school understands their new friendship, questioning why these two would even spend time together. Mayuko wants to change herself so people will get a different opinion, and no longer think that it is strange that Ohba-kun is by her side. I need to gush about how good a guy Ohba-kun is! Ohba-kun is the polar opposite of Mayuko, but the BEST friend, and as Mayuko decides to begin her change by entering an...

”The Yakuza's Bias, Vol 1” by Teki Yatsuda

I was howling and guffawing my way through ”The Yakuza's Bias, Vol 1” by Teki Yatsuda. What a clever and brilliant way of showing the true (and scary!) powers only true fans possesses! In masses, fans are scary! And like this gag manga, it doesn't feel like the underworld and the honor codex of the Yakuza is far of from any fanbase, really! Ken Kanashiro is a hardboiled yakuza guy who has earned the right to call himself second-in-command in the Washio Clan. He has been through many battles and has the scars to prove it. When the daughter of the president drags him along to a K-pop concert, his heart is moved in ways he never imagined could happen, and a new world has opened for him. Now, he's Jun's biggest fan! A role he doesn't take lightly. Smitten like a new recruit on his first job, Ken plunges into fandom with the solemnity and passion only a true man who walks the way of the yakuza could muster. Honestly, watching the daughter of the president draggin...
